Why are we doing this?
Adair Park 1 has long been a popular park in the community, attracting children and families from not only here in the neighborhood, but from nearby Pittsburgh, Capital View, Oakland City and West End.
It’s a special place and serves as a community hub for gatherings, recreation, exercise and children at play. It’s a park where birthday parties and BBQs are nonstop.
Less than 0.25 mile from the Atlanta BeltLine Westside Trail, families often travel to, and park, at Adair Park to utilize the trail, including a visit to the playground in the process.
However, the playground equipment is old, outdated and many of the mainstay pieces are broken. Friends of Adair Park is seeking funding for new playground equipment for children of all ages to play and enjoy.
These improvements have the potential to help our children and families have rewarding outside play and adventure time at a place that can hold their interest and encourage rigorous play, and serve our community for years to come.
Join us as we seek to raise $25,000 to support the installation of three new amazing play structures in the Adair Park I playground! We can’t do this without you. Thanks for donating!!
Friends of Adair Park issued an RFP in 2021 to receive design ideas for our new park structure. Playground Creations was selected by neighbors as the favorite design, which includes a new swingset and two separate play structures. The final design will also include updated seating around the park and root mitigation.
